Collecting Theme:
Personal papers documenting the careers of members of Connecticut’s Congressional delegation throughout much of the 20th century, as well as individuals and organizations that support or monitor the state’s political process.
Description:
An active area of collecting, the Political Collection contains the records of delegates from Connecticut to the United States Congress from 1933 to the present (bulk, 1970-2009). In support of these materials, there are additional collections from select individuals and organizations involved in political/civic issues at the state level such as Bob Englehart, Vivien Kellems, Herman Wolf and the Caucus of Connecticut Democrats. Formats accepted include manuscripts, diaries, correspondence, photographs, ephemera, sound recordings, moving images, accessible/supported electronic records.

The Dodd Research Center collects: * Material with statewide significance; papers of members of Congressional delegation

* Limited local or civic organizations records only as they complement other collecting areas
