The University of Delaware Library is celebrating Congress Week with a small exhibit to complement the Congress Week theme, Congress: Chosen by the People.
We're highlighting the story of Willard Saulsbury, Jr., who was Delaware's last senator elected by the state legislature, before passage of the XVII Amendment and rewording of Article 3, section 1. The few items shown are on display in the Information Room, First Floor of Morris Library in Newark, but the text of the exhibit is online:

The University of Delaware is also hosting Sen. Tom Carper on Friday, September 14, who will deliver the second annual Constitution Day lecture in honor of James R. Soles, a beloved professor of political science on this campus who mentored many students into public policy careers.
